“Happy Birthday.” We all get to hear that every year as we slowly age from one year to the next, 19, 20, 21. We get to count up the years as we grow older hoping each one comes with new responsibilities and rewards, but what if we didn’t know when to start counting? Deven Rieck, a sophomore at Buena Vista University (BVU), was found abandoned at District Ahmednagar (Maharashta,India) at the approximate age of three.

Watch the video above to hear his story of living the life of not knowing his birthday, his birth parents, or anything before the age of three. Rieck’s experience has influence and enhances his naturally giving and caring personality. Rieck is currently very active in organization that give back such as BV Buddies, AWOL, Barc, and he is starting a cooking club to teach others.
