On Saturday, Oct. 29, Storm Lake United hosted their annual Chills and Thrills Trick or Treating event in downtown Storm Lake, IA. Many different activities were held that day such as a Halloween party at the Storm Lake Public Library, and kid’s activities sponsored by Buena Vista University.
Chills and Thrills is an event that brings together the Storm Lake community to celebrate a truly “spooktacular” time of the year! Trick or Treating downtown started at 10 am, and was expanded to surrounding locations including Bomgaars, Maurices, North Lake Manor, and Pizza Ranch. Buena Vista University students set up booths outside various businesses along Lake Ave. hosting children’s activities and handing out candy.
A popular stop at the event was the Storm Lake Police Department. Uniformed policemen were present to hand out blue balloons to the young trick or treaters. Booths set up by students handed out candy, activity sheets, and temporary tattoos. Other booths offered a variety of activities such as web mazes and a ring toss.
