Cassie Forsyth | Arts & Life Co-Editor

Starting at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, Associate Professor of Digital Media Andrea Frantz’s Media and Society class began a 48 hour media blackout. To complete the assignment, students must avoid using social media, text messaging, music, the internet, television, and other media sources for two days.

Frantz’s mission for the assignment is to push students to realize they can go without media. Students should also pick up on nonverbal cues and understand their own media consumption during the course of their blackout.
