Following the arrest of Nick Amundson, a BVU junior from Spirit Lake, IA, on February 27, on the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) following a traffic stop at the intersection of Grand and Iowa Streets, the Storm Lake Police Department executed a search warrant on February 29 on the vehicle in which Amundson and other occupants were stopped. As a result of the search warrant, police located and seized additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia and made further arrests in the case.

SLPD arrested the following individuals on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the police station.

Nick Amundson was additionally charged with gathering where controlled substances are used and was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

Police charged Cody Mowery, a BVU junior from Spencer, IA, with possession of a controlled substance, prohibited acts, gathering where controlled substances are used, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mowery was booked into the county jail on a $2,000 bond.

Jalen Henningson, a BVU senior from Alta, IA, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and was booked into the county jail on a $1,000 bond.

Tory Beger, a BVU senior from Grand Junction, IA, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, gathering where controlled substances are used, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Beger was booked into the county jail on a $1,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
