Magic on Campus

Magic+on+Campus

Kyle Wiebers | Contributing Writer

magicFriday night, Comedian and Magician Ben Seidman awed students with his magic and had them in stitches with his jokes. His sleight of hand had audience members speechless. While making students laugh at his jokes he offered some sage advice to his audience, “Say hi to everyone. Take time to introduce yourself. College will be much more enjoyable if you know people.” His life advice was dropped in throughout his act separated by jokes and dazzling magic tricks.

Seidman highlighted his time of getting detained in a Las Vegas hotel over a bag of flower, while making money disappear from pockets as well as card tricks. The entertainment was endless from Seidman, who has appeared on Penn and Teller: Fool Us as well as creating magic tricks for the edgy modern magician, Criss Angel. Seidman shocked the crowd with his unique magic and was very friendly afterwards, welcoming pictures after the show.

The event, hosted by the Student Activity Board, rewarded some lucky students with prizes like a food basket, a Razor scooter, and a 32-inch television after Seidman had finished his act. The magic and the laughs were a welcomed break from classes for all who attended.
