Two incidents involving Rohypnol, commonly known as roofies, have recently been reported to Campus Security. Several individuals may have ingested this drug, which can easily be slipped into drinks unnoticed.
Director of Campus Security Mark Kirkholm advised students in an email sent out by Campus Security last night for students not to leave drinks unattended and to make their own drinks. He cautions students to be careful if accepting drinks from people they don’t know well. The Campus Security email said that symptoms of this drug include acting more intoxicated than one normally would with the amount of alcohol consumed, dizziness, nausea, memory loss, and breathing or motion difficulties. People do not need to consume alcohol to be affected by this drug. If anyone has any information regarding these incidents, please contact Mark Kirkholm at 749-2500 or [email protected].
