As you enter the movie theater to watch this movie, high expectations are inevitable with two stars from the film and music industries coming together to create a great retelling of this Hollywood myth. The same story being told four times shows how people love and resonate with the movie’s legacy.

As this is Lady Gaga’s first major motion picture, people are more than excited to see how she will portray something that is very much like herself in real life, a superstar. In this movie we see a different Lady Gaga; one without the makeup and the bizarre but jaw-dropping fashion statements. We witness a new portrayal of her brought to life through Bradley Cooper’s genius. Unlike some previous movies, we are given a backstory of Ally (Lady Gaga), shadowing the very first iteration of the movie. We see a woman with tremendous talent haunted continuously by the shadow of her father’s big dreams and the high Hollywood standards that never let her have her big break.

All that changes when she meets country and rock star Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper), who seems to be drowning but can keep Ally from touching the ground and skyrocket her career. The fate of these two is mirrored in reverse, showing the downfall of Jackson’s career overshadowed by Ally’s rise to fame, how they try to keep loving each other through all the hurdles thrown at them and how they keep getting defeated. These two have an epic love story, and we witness how deeply they fall in love with the subtle scenes that show them getting to know each other honestly. This movie shows how this star and future superstar were humans before being music idols.

“A Star is Born” is a worthwhile watch with special music and a story that shows the tenderness of love, fear, and the horror of stardom, serving as a cautionary tale about the Hollywood dream. If you are looking for a movie with pleasing music, tremendous acting, and a heart-aching story, this movie has it all for you.
