Tis the season to be thankful! So what are your fellow classmates thankful for?
Kyle Wiebers
Sophomore – Psychology and Educational Studies Double Major
“I remember vividly when I was in 2nd grade we had to draw and write about something we were thankful for. Most of my class wrote about how they were thankful for their family, or their pets. But not me. I said that I was thankful for football. I remember taking it home, and my parents were confused and probably a little hurt too, but I didn’t really see what the problem was. Looking back now, I know I was just taking my family for granted and I didn’t truly appreciate them. But 12 years, and many adventures later, I can without doubt say I am incredibly thankful for my family. Everything we’ve been through together and how supportive we are of each other makes it such an easy choice to be thankful for my family. Being thankful for football doesn’t even cross my mind anymore. When people asked me at age 8 what I was thankful for, I might have had my priorities misaligned. But you ask me at age 20, and I don’t even hesitate to say, I am so thankful for my family.”

Keely Bycroft

“I am thankful for my family and a place to call home. Knowing I have a place to drive home to during Thanksgiving break and spending time with people who love me is something everyone needs and I can’t be more thankful for that.”
Shelby Pittenger
Sophomore Corporate Communications major
“I am thankful for the love and support I get my friends and family because without them I wouldn’t be where I am today and wouldn’t have accomplished all that I have. And of course, I can’t forget my pets, without them life would be dull!”
Taylor Daniel
Senior Human Performance major
“I am thankful for all of the people in my life who are always pushing me to challenge myself and be a better person! If you need anything else let me know!”
Nahomi Estrada
Junior HR major
“I am thankful for my education, family and health!”
Kylee Deering
Freshman Corporate Communications major
“This year, I’m thankful for the opportunities I’ve been given in college. I would never have dreamed of getting to blog and write articles for The Tack or be a part of dance team. BV has given me the ability to let my wildest dreams take off. I’m also thankful for my family who has supported me through all my journeys and has been my sounding board in a time of so much change. They’re my loudest cheering section and biggest fans, my advice givers, and helpers. They’re always there when I need them and make me laugh when I want to cry (which I’ve found out in college, happens a lot!) I’m thankful to have a wonderful family who I can always turn to.”
Lydia Winkler
Sophomore Special Education major
“Getting the chance to continue my education.”
Thank you for everyone who contributed. I hope that our fellow classmates inspire all of us to look at our lives and really appreciate everything that we have. So ask yourself this weekend while you’re eating that delicious Thanksgiving meal…What are you thankful for?
