This week’s multimedia spotlight focuses on junior graphic design and digital media major, Krystal Schulte. Above, are Schulte’s designs from various projects for school and organizations. One current project that is Schulte’s favorite so far includes working on the Zombie Burger Documentary Project by Universtiy Cable Network (UCN) Studios. She created four zombies where each represent a theme for the key points in the documentary.
Schulte says about the zombies, “I think each are really cute in a unique way. I also think it shows my talents in positive way.”
One challenge she faces when designing is the time-crunching due dates for her designs. “It takes me a while to figure out what to do, and then I usually have to rush getting it done. It seems that the designs that takes the least amount of time and thought, turn out being the designs I love,” commented Schulte. She loves the competitive side of graphic design, though, and says she designs best when having to out-design someone.
After graduation, Schulte looks to be a senior art director. “I know it’s something I have to work up to, so my plan is to do just that.”
