“Beavers Are” is a list of personal values or traits that are in conjunction with the Beaver’s Creed. Along with the “Beavers Are” values, Buena Vista University’s (BVU) Student Senate has decided to implement a recognition award called Beaver of the Month. Students, staff, and faculty may nominate a student based on what value is dedicated to that month.

April’s Beaver of the Month is Tanner Heckt. Heckt has been chosen because he is “selfless.”

Senate had received a nomination for Heckt that included the following information:

“Always goes out of his way to help out his teammates. He is a great leader who cares about everyone being successful. During the day he always says hi to you if you make eye contact. He is a great leader in and out of the classroom.”
Beaver of the Month is a way to recognize individual students for representing the values included in “Beavers Are.” “Beavers Are” contains the values that were previously included in the Beaver’s Creed.
