This week’s multimedia spotlight is on Seth Moeller, a senior graphic design major with a digital media minor. In this featured video, produced by Moeller and senior graphic design and digital media major, Paige Miller, we see Moeller’s designs for the men’s soccer team’s training gear (three different kits). The featured badge was a project Moeller started his freshman as a work study job.
“The badge started with my soccer coach in work study as an idea for something to brand our soccer team, something that was only the players product,” Moeller said.
Moeller continued to alter and adjust the badge throughout three years, as it was used on fundraising and training soccer shirts. After running into several problems in the design process, Moeller started a new badge this last spring. He made changes to the shape, font, added, and subtracted elements to create a new badge. This badge is now featured on their practice gear and game day travel apparel.
“I am very happy that I could leave a mark on the program by having the guys have an image for the program that they can take pride in,”Moeller said.
Moeller and Miller shot and produced this promo as an experimental project for the Advanced Video Class. They intended this promo be used so future soccer recruits could see the training gear and to see what the program is like.
In the future, Moeller would like to be a designer and create logos for sports teams and schools. Eventually, Moeller would like to become a freelance designer and do work on his own time, so he can enjoy the outdoors more.
