Five Bible Verses For Finals Week

Allyssa Ertz, Arts & Life Editor

Seven projects to do, 10 tests to study for, 20 papers to write. This may be an exaggeration, but this is definitely what it feels like as the end of the year and finals seem to be crashing down on you. Everything is due at once, every person wants you to help them with something, and you have no time to yourself.

Stress is killer, and sometimes all you need is to read one Bible verse to remind you that God is in control.  Here’s five as a reminder to keep your head high and enjoy the last month instead of dreading it.

“We don’t have to be anxious when we can freely talk with God about our needs.”

Philippians 4:6

This verse is a great reminder to talk to God. Anytime, you can bow your head and say a quick prayer, or just talk to him about your problems. When you feel that everything is pressing in on you and you don’t have enough time in the day, take a quick second to ask Him for His help. You’ll be surprised at what a difference this will make for you.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

James 1:2-4

God has a reason for every single thing that happens in your life. He’s using these times to make you who you are supposed to be, and complete you. Work to the best of your ability, and He will do the rest.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all of your heart, as working for the Lord. Not for human masters.”

Colossians 3:23

Remind yourself that it isn’t for you, it is all for Him.  Be cautious of human masters, as they do not have your best interests at heart. God does.

“The Lord is good a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.”

Nahum 1:7

Take one step at a time, and trust the process in God. He will take care of the rest. If you trust in Him, He will show you His glory.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7

Give it to God.  All your worries, the stress, everything. He’ll handle it. God’s got this!

As the final weeks of this school year come, remember that God’s got you. Give him all your anxiety and stress, and He will do the rest.
