For many years, plastic usage has been an increasing problem around the world. Marine life are effected regularly due to the plastic content in our oceans. People living in the Midwest don’t necessarily think about how their plastic usage impacts the environment,  as we are thousands of miles from the ocean. The Buena Vista University (BVU) campus is located in Northwest Iowa, the heart of the Midwest, so I was curious about the plastic usage and recycling on our campus.

I spoke with many sources on campus such as BVU Professor of Biology, Dr. Melinda Coogan, General Manager of Sodexo Campus Services, Ken Allen, and many others. This podcast explores the use of plastic and recycling across campus.
