Buena Vista University (BVU) Resident Advisors (RA’s) have been fundraising this fall for cancer research. This money will help with a cure for cancers.
Every year the RA’s are given the BEAVERS model when they plan programs for their residents. The model stands for Body, Emotion, Academic, Variety/diversity, Events, Residents, and Service.
“We decided for our service program to focus on the “S” in the BEAVERS model,” Resident Adviser and senior Tracey Ellis said. “We wanted to help raise money for a cure for cancers.”
They started off the Compete for a Cure with T-shirt sales. These sales ended on Friday, Sept. 28. When the orders were placed, there were extra orders of each size for any parents or others who did not order one or would still like one.
T-shirt sales are not the only fundraiser the RA’s are doing this fall. They will be raffling off autographed footballs signed by the BVU football players at the fall games.
The BVU RA’s have started a great fundraiser for such a great cause. It is not too late to show support for cancer research.
