In the rich history of our great nation, men and women of our nation have spoken. President Obama will return to Washington. Through all the racism, sexism, attempted disenfranchisement, and misleading propaganda, Americans have saw through the GOP’s facade and returned President Obama to the White House to continue what he started four years ago.
If this election speaks of anything, it speaks of the importance of every vote. This election was (really) close. Perhaps this election was too close for some. Yet, the Obama’s campaign efforts to hit the pavement and shake every hand and knock on every door paid greater dividends. Reaching out to the ordinary folks that are plenty in our nation paid off as it should.
Our nation has spoken from hills and valleys aplenty. We will not tolerate a climate of hate, fear, or pandering. We wish to put people first, not political parties. We will not stand atop the mountains of Colorado or the molehills of of West Virginia and shout “stop” upon history. We will support those who labor for their living, women, gays, lesbians, and minorities in our nation, for they are just as much the future of our nation as everyone else is. To this, Democrats have said, as Senator Ted Kennedy said some 32 years ago: “For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die.”
