2013 Homecoming Court

2013 Homecoming Court

Flowers, crowns, and lip syncing. That’s right; Buena Vista University’s (BVU) 2013 Homecoming court candidates have been announced! Voting for homecoming king and queen is this week and the coronation is on Friday, October 4th, at 8:30 p.m. in the gymnasium. Meet the court below!

Gwendolyn Walton, daughter of Gregory and Kathy Walton of Granger, Iowa, is a senior psychology major. She is a part of cheerleading, dance team, president of Student M.O.V.E., FCA Leadership Team, choir, AASB, psych club, Psi Chi, science club, Teacher’s Inc, CAE tutoring, Bridge volunteer, and Dean’s Fellowship Mentor Program. Walton says the best part about being a BVU Beaver is making long-lasting connections with the BVU family.

Michael Boyle, son of Bob and Denise Boyle of Perry, Iowa, is a senior marketing and corporate math double major. He is involved in IMPACT, FCA, BVMA, Esprit de Corps, and Career Services Advisory Board. One of Boyle’s favorite BVU memories was playing Settlers of Catan and lawn golf with friends on a very late and rainy night.

Paige Miller, daughter of Everett and Robin Miller of Dayton, Wyoming, is a senior graphic design and digital media double major. She is a RA, Operations Manager for UCN, a part of track and field, and Unity Council Member. What Miller will miss the most at BVU is the people and being a part of the BVU track and field team.

Demetrius Heard is a senior digital media major from Chicago, Illinois. He is involved in wrestling, football, and Society of Collegiate Journalists. The best part about being a BVU Beaver according to Heard is wrestling and meeting new friends on campus.

Jennifer Dimig, daughter of John and Beth Dimig of Lakeside, Iowa, is a senior graphic design major. Dimig is involved with the marketing club and intramural sports. Her favorite BVU memory was going with the marketing club on a trip to a Twins game, a Timberwolves game, and to the Vikings facilities.

Kevin Coriolan, son of Ernst and Carol Coriolan of Worthington, Minnesota, is a senior corporate communication and digital media double major. He is a part of Student MOVE, The Tack, SCJ, International Club, and AmeriCorps. Coriolan will miss the relationships he has built with everybody in the BVU community.

Chelsea Clayton, daughter of Earnest and Paula Clayton of Early, Iowa, is a senior biology major. She is involved in volleyball, AMSA, BV buddies, IMPACT, science club, Student MOVE, team wellness, RA, and CAE tutoring. Clayton’s favorite part about of being a BVU beaver is being able to be involved with so many different things on campus with many different people.

Adam Schlichte, son of Jim and Jeannie Schlichte of Granville, IA, is a senior physical education major. He is a part of football, O-Team, and an O-Team director. Schlichte’s favorite BVU memory was beating Central College on homecoming last year which also started the winning streak of four conference football games.

Amber Riedy, daughter of Rob and Kristen Riedy of Grand Island, Nebraska, is a senior biology and chemistry major. She is a part of track, student senate, Esprit de Corps, SAAC, science club, BV Athletics Club, Dean’s Fellows, and honors. The best part about being a BVU Beaver, Riedy says, is having the best support from professors, coaches, and friends.

Brady Stier, son of Judy Einck and Mark Stier, is a sports management and coaching double major from Austin, Minnesota. He is a part of football, a community coordinator for ResLife, BV Buddies, AWOL, Fuego, and intramurals. Stier will miss most about BVU is all of the great friends he made and all the fun experiences that went along with them during his time here.
