Jeremy Lambert, a baseball player from Alta, Iowa is looking to have a successful senior campaign for the Beavers. Lambert is in his second season at Buena Vista University (BVU) after playing at Iowa Central Community College.

So far this season, the BVU baseball team went 3-1 after a weekend in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but took on Nebraska Wesleyan this weekend bringing them to 6-1.

“We have gotten off to a pretty good start, but we still know we can improve in many areas of the game,” Lambert said.

This season, a veteran team returns to the diamond with several seniors in the line-up. The team has been working hard in the off season to improve communication and leadership on the field.

The Beavers have set both personal and team goals for themselves this season. Lambert’s personal goal is to stay healthy.

“I have had a lot of problems with injuries in the past and each year I have had to miss significant amounts of games so it is important to me that I stay healthy so I can contribute to the team,” Lambert said.

As a team the main focus is on winning the conference title. Last season, the Beavers placed third in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

“We have put a lot of time and work in over the past year and previous years and a conference championship has always been the focus. We have goals beyond that, but that is a good beginning focus point,” Lambert said.

The Beavers now travel to Tucson, Ariz. over spring break to play a series of nine games. They will be facing Gustavus Adolphus, Carthage, Hamline, Lawrence, and Luther.
