Senior Jordan Henningsen is beginning her third season as a Buena Vista University (BVU) varsity volleyball player. Henningsen is from Alta, Iowa and is majoring in Corporate Communications. Henningsen was named Defensive Volleyball Player of the Week with her performance at the Washington University tournament in St. Louis over Labor Day weekend.

Henningsen is the lone senior this season. Henningsen recognizes what her role needs to be on the team.

“It is very important for us to be leaders for our young teammates on and off the court. Patience and confidence is something that we have had to adapt to this season because the majority of our players have little to no college game experience, but we are learning and growing more and more every game and getting excited to see what this team can produce with conference play starting soon,” Henningsen said.

Despite being a young team, Henningsen’s expectations are still high.

“My expectations for the team is to compete at a high level especially during conference games. I believe we have a chance to compete for a bid to the conference tournament and potentially a title, something that hasn’t happened for this program for a very long time,” Henningsen said.

The Beavers travel to St. Peter, Minnesota this coming weekend to compete in the Gustavus invitational.
