Senior digital media major, Scotty Locati, had the opportunity to sit down with Justice Daryl Hecht of the Iowa Supreme Court and interview him about the Court on the Road program, along with judicial activism and law school.
The Justices’ hold Iowa Supreme Court hearings in the judicial branch building in Des Moines on a regular basis. The Court on the Road program came about in 2011 with the goal to allow the community of Iowa to see the court in action and how it serves its citizens. They utilize the program as a learning tool not only to educate, but also as a way to interest citizens in law so that they become aware on how the system works.
