Emily Leighton | Staff Writer

Casey James, a senior from Orient, Iowa, is very excited to start her senior year of track and field. James is an Accounting and Corporate Math major at Buena Vista University (BVU). James is on the 4×200 record holding team and the 4X100 record holding team. James has been a part of the 4×200 team that has placed third in conference the past three years and a part of the 4×100 team that has placed second in conference the past three years. Last year, James was apart of the 4×100 national qualifying team.

With the competitive season starting soon, the team is practicing now. Eager Beaver track and field participants hope this season goes as well as the ones in the past. With a new coach, there is something new to look forward to.

“I am very excited for my senior year of track and can’t wait for the great things to come this year,” James said.

Even with all of her accomplishments here at BVU, James still has higher hopes, and she knows this Beaver team can get them done.

“My personal goals this year would be to get some personal record times and for the 4×100 team to go to nationals again this year and place in the top eight,” James said.

The first indoor track meet takes place in late January 2015.
