The Student Activities Board (SAB) at Buena Vista University (BVU) held their annual Family Weekend from Friday, April 25 through Saturday, April 26. It kicked off with a family friendly inflatable obstacle course and gladiator joust on Friday evening, which was held in the Lamberti Fieldhouse from 6-10 p.m. From 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday in the Estelle Siebens Science Center, Family Weekend continued with a carnival that included a photo booth, a caricature artist, carnival food-itty bits, face painting, spin art Frisbee making, and the most popular activity, stuff-a-plush. The Family Weekend then continued with its tradition of Beaver Idol in the Pierce/White lobby where ten BVU student finalists performed live to win the title. This year’s winner was senior Roberta Swanton. Finally, from 8-10 p.m., the weekend capped off with Beaver Bingo, where students, their friends, and their families ended the night with a nice round of competitive, but friendly, bingo.
