Buena Vista University (BVU) offers about 40 majors at the Storm Lake campus, including a large array of minors, concentrations, certifications, and endorsements.

According to James Hewitt, the BVU Institutional Researcher, the top declared major at Buena Vista University is business, including majors in management, marketing, business, economics, and international business. In resemblance, the most popular major in the United States is business administration and management, according to USA Today College Contributor network.

BVU offers an arrangement of business and management majors. In fact, BVU’s official website streams a heading that includes the tagline “Stepping into a career in business”. The list of most popular majors at BVU carries on with biology, elementary education, exercise science, accounting, athletic training, social work, computer science, digital media, and criminology. All following similar trends to the research found on the top majors of the United States.

The USA Today continues the list of the top 10 majors in the United States: general psychology, nursing, general biology, teacher education & professional development, criminal justice & corrections, accounting, liberal arts & sciences, general studies and humanities, English language and literature, and history.

The most popular majors at Buena Vista University follow similar trends to that of the United States. The majors that are most commonly declared often are broad enough for a wide range of work opportunities.
