So you’re saying you’ve waited until the last minute to get that special someone a Valentine’s gift? What possibly could you have been busy doing? Oh, wait. College.
If you haven’t had time to think about it or if you have been trying to ignore it, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. (Literally, it’s tomorrow.) You may feel that you are out of options to celebrate, but don’t fret. There are plenty of ideas available for the last minute! Here are nine Valentine’s ideas nearby:
1. Pizza Hut — Heart Shaped Pizza
Because everyone loves pizza. But a heart shaped pizza? You automatically win Valentine of the year if you surprise your special someone with one of these.
2. Sodexo — 5 pops + a pizza drawing
On the topic of pizza, Sodexo is holding a drawing today (February 13), and the lucky winner receives five sodas and a pizza. A drawing means winning and winning means free! And it involves pizza, so why not?
3. King’s Pointe Resort – Romance Package
If you are looking to get away from campus but still want to be in Storm Lake, King’s Pointe is offering a Romance Package for $179. The package includes a one-night stay in a lake view room, a $50 certificate for dinner at the Regatta Grille, and a bottle of white or red wine. This one is for all of you romantics out there.
4. Starbucks — “World’s Largest Starbucks Date”
In case you coffee lovers didn’t already know, Starbucks has claimed to be holding the “World’s Largest Starbucks Date” today, Friday, February 13 from 2p.m. to close at participating Starbucks stores. They will be offering special coffee and dessert pairings for $5 per pair. They (of course) have heart decorated cups this month and in case you don’t have anyone to share your coffee with, Starbucks has also partnered with Match.com to help customers find their special someone. If you decide to make a trip to Sioux City, here are the Valentine’s Day specials at Starbucks:

Searching for a sweet and simple gift to include in a Valentine’s card? Why not include these love coupons? The coupons come with sayings such as 1 cuddle, 1 dinner + movie, 1 favor, and so on. They are a free printable and will surely put a smile on your Valentine’s face. There are also blank ones you can fill out with personalized coupon ideas!
6. Daily Apple — Homemade Gifts
The Daily Apple in Storm Lake is selling homemade and local gifts including chocolate, bath items, wine, and premade gift baskets. What easier way to show your loved ones that you care?

8. Walmart — Giant Teddy Bear
Walmart has dozens of little gifts that you could buy, but the best one has got to be a giant stuffed teddy bear. It might be a good thing if you decide to purchase this last minute, otherwise it could be a difficult gift to hide.
9. White House 220 Cupcakery – Valentine’s Night Out
The White House 220 Cupcakery is holding a Valentine’s Night Out on Friday and Saturday night from 5-10p.m. Head over to Alta for mini gourmet cupcakes, made-to-order focaccia bread, and Iowa wine and beer.
