Volleyball
The Buena Vista University (BVU) volleyball team went into the season ranked first, and finished the season tied for third. While the season ended in a heartbreaking loss during the semi-finals of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) tournament to Loras College. The Beavers landed four members with All-Conference honors. Sophomores Emily Mathews and Laura Barry were both named Honorable Mention, while sophomore Jade Schaap was named first-team and junior Maddie Bardole was named Conference Most Valuable Player. Jade Schaap then went on to earn first-team All-Central Region. The Beavers ended their season at 18-16.
Football
The Beavers started the season with two pre-season All-Americans in senior receiver Ben Seitz and senior offensive lineman Travis Munn. The lone victory for the Beavers came against Waldorf college in the first ever night game inside J. Leslie Rollins stadium. They ended the season 1-9 overall.
Men’s Soccer
The BVU men’s soccer team went 5-12 overall on the season and 0-7 in the IIAC. The Beavers had one player named to All-Conference accolades, that player being freshman defender Jacob Heath, who was named Honorable Mention All-IIAC performer. While not seeing the results wanted out of the 2015 season there were several close games within conference play.
Women’s Soccer
The BVU women’s soccer team went 3-13 overall and 0-7 in the IIAC. The Beavers had one player named to an All-Conference team which was sophomore midfielder Claire Arganbright who was named Honorable Mention All-IIAC selection.
Men and Women’s Cross Country
The BVU men and women’s cross country ran in six meets. On the women’s side, freshman Katie Puls and sophomore Sybbie Sears placed 29th and 39th respectively at the NCAA Regional Championships. The team placed 26th overall out of 30 teams. The lady Beavers also placed 8th of 8 at the IIAC Championships. On the men’s side junior Ben Sampson was the top place finisher for the Beavers at the NCAA Regional Championships placing 86th, the men placed 24th overall out of 29. The men also finished 8th of 8 at the IIAC Championships.
Women’s Golf
The BVU women’s golf team had several good performances at the individual level this fall. The Beavers finished the season at the IIAC tournament in seventh place out of the eight teams. They had one golfer finish in the top 20, with freshman Emily Kim at 17th.
