Senior Tyler Lafferty has played a key role on the men’s soccer team for the past four years. As a senior, he has started in all fifteen games and has chalked up three goals himself along with four assists.
Tyler is from Berwyn, Illinois and is majoring in computer science. He came to BVU, because he was contacted by the soccer coach and heard about the great academic programs available on campus. His favorite memory is from two years ago when the team was playing Coe. Tyler scored the winning goal, marking the first time that the Beavers have beaten Coe in men’s soccer since 2005.
Last year, Tyler led the team with a total of seven goals, three of them in a 7-0 win over Presentation College. The men’s soccer coach, Marc Baumbach, can testify to the hard work that Tyler puts in on the soccer field and in the off-season.
“Lafferty is a player that has committed himself to our program over the past four years and has really helped set new standards. He will leave the program with his name at the top of many of the all-time records and deserves to be there. He is a credit to the men’s soccer program here at BVU and is a top guy,” Baumbach said.
The men’s soccer team closed out their season on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and finished with a 5-13 (1-6) record.
