Beaver Beats is a new weekly series spotlighting the playlists fueling BVU students. Each week, we’ll feature a BVU student and the playlist that powers a specific part of their routine — whether it’s a workout, a study-session, baking jams, or the songs they play on a late-night drive. Music sets the tone for what we do, and Beaver Beats highlights the tracks Beavers are pressing play on across campus. 

I love baking and I love listening to music. When I bake, I need to set the scene in the kitchen in order for my baked goods to turn out amazing! If I’m enjoying myself and listening to good music, I’m a happy camper. In my opinion, as cheesy as this may sound, “love” is the secret ingredient for a baked good to come out tasting delicious.

I chose this song because in my opinion it automatically sets the tone to a calm yet groovy vibe. That’s exactly how I want to start anything when it comes to baking.

I love Becky G, so any of her songs, from her album “Esquinas,” would’ve made it one here. I chose this song specifically because I love everything about it. From the lyrics to the melody and the calmness it brings me. It’s beautiful.

In my opinion this song gives me “in the kitchen” vibe and I love his voice and it’s usually one I tend to sing along with when I’m baking.

I love singing along to this song because in my opinion it’s so beautiful especially when you get to the main verses.

This song is such a classic and I love everything about this song. It gives the vibe of slow dancing in the kitchen. It’s magical and soothing.

This song, in my opinion, is so beautiful. From the lyrics to the guitar playing, it made me fall in love. Everything about this song makes me happy and feel at peace.

I like the vibe of this song and how well their voices go with each other. To me, being calm in the kitchen is essential especially when it comes to baking and this fits that. Maybe not the lyrics but the melody and instruments do.

Finally, this song is so soothing and perfect when I’m baking. The vibe this song brings is perfect and it makes me happy. Anything that gives off “slow dancing” will automatically go into my “baking” playlist. I love baking and pairing it up with good music makes the whole process more enjoyable.
