Deering’s Dorm Decor

Deerings+Dorm+Decor

Kylee Deering | Blogger

Dear You,

It’s almost Thanksgiving time and people are getting geared up for the holidays. Instead of a particular dorm room decoration, I decided to do something just a tad different instead.

I decided this week’s post would be “7 Days of Thanks” in honor of Thanksgiving being just shy of two short weeks away! (Plus this requires a couple things so I’m giving you time to go get your needed supplies to do it.) So this is how it works.

You’ll need either a clothesline and clothespins or clip string lights. I know Urban Outfitters always has some you can order but they’re not too hard to find elsewhere as well. Then you’ll need some sort of paper. You can make this as simple or crafty as you’d like. Just use regular printer paper or get scrapbook paper, cardstock, you name it. Whatever you want to do to make it unique. Then cut them out into 7 square pieces, you can choose size. Write a way that you plan on giving back or saying thanks on each slip of paper. Examples include “Buy the person behind me’s coffee at the coffee shop” or “Call Grandma to let her know I love her” or “Take (insert name here) out to lunch.” Starting 7 days out from Thanksgiving (or 7 days out from when you leave to go home), take one down every day and do what it says.

This can be a lot of fun and rewarding. It’s a good reminder to stop and take time out of your day once in awhile to do something nice for someone else and be thankful for all that we have.

Happy giving!

Kylee
